Current research focus
My present research centres on school attendance problems and emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA) — the subset of school non-attendance driven by emotional distress. This forms the basis of my PhD by publication, which comprises three interlinked empirical papers.

A PROSPERO-registered systematic review and narrative synthesis of interventions for emotionally based school avoidance, examining construct definitions, outcome operationalisation, and intervention targets.

Examining how patterns of school attendance develop across childhood and early adolescence using large-scale Australian longitudinal cohort data (LSAC).

Population-level attendance
Exploring system-level patterns in school attendance and non-attendance using national education data, with attention to how administrative reporting shapes the visibility of EBSA.
